1. What first sparked your love for art and creativity?
My love for art began quietly, long before I realized it. As a young adult, I was always drawn to traditional Indian art forms. I would flip through magazines just to admire the beautiful, detailed illustrations and vibrant colours. I didn’t know how those artworks were created, but each piece left me mesmerized.
Slowly, that curiosity pushed me to try a few traditional styles. I discovered that I could sit for hours painting, completely losing track of time. That feeling—of being fully present and joyful — made me realize that art wasn’t just a pastime for me. It was something I naturally gravitated towards, something that made me feel happy.

2. What made you feel it was the “right moment” to choose your passion and commit to a year-long learning journey?
The turning point was…children's books! When I started reading storybooks to my kid, I unexpectedly fell in love with those cute character drawings, soft colours and the way these simple illustrations could make a whole story feel alive. Until then, I never knew I even had a “cute art” side within me.
Every book pulled me deeper into the world of art. But here’s the funny part — I had absolutely no idea how digital art worked. I simply assumed it was only for Viscom students or professionals. I didn’t even consider that it was something I could learn.
Then one day, I came across a small article about the Artpreneur program. That was my “Eureka” moment. I enquired, but at that time, life had a few commitments lined up. So I decided to wait instead of rushing.
A little later, I attended one of their Kawaii workshops…and that was it. I just knew — this is my path, this is my time. Everything fell into place beautifully, and I joined with the feeling of “my happily ever after."

3. Can you describe a moment during the Artpreneur journey when you truly surprised yourself?
There were few such moments through out the journey.
The first was the day I created my very first digital illustration. I still remember staring at it in disbelief. It felt like a dream come true — like stepping into a world I had admired from afar for years. The happiness it gave me was indescribable. Even during my lettering sessions, I would surprise myself. I’d look at the hand-lettering I had created and feel genuinely proud. Seeing my own handwriting evolve into beautiful, stylised art was an unforgettable feeling.
But the moment that truly moved me was during the final session, when I created my Chitrasutra artwork. That piece made me realise how deeply this journey had shaped me. It reflected not just skill, but growth, discipline, and the confidence the program had nurtured within me.

4. How did you balance personal life—as a mom, along with responsibilities and daily sadhana while pursuing this journey?
Discipline became my anchor — but it was a joyful kind of discipline. And I was blessed with a wonderfully supportive family who made this journey easier for me.
Every day, I would wake up early, finish my household responsibilities, get everything ready for my family, so I could settle down for class at peace. I genuinely looked forward to those sessions. That excitement kept me consistent for nine whole months without missing a day.
After class, I would immediately do my sadhana before my child returned home. Those three quiet hours felt like six hours of work— I could focus deeply and work with complete ease.
When I look back now, I feel truly proud of how beautifully everything balanced out. This entire phase has become one of the happiest, most fulfilling periods of my life.

5. How did the support of your educator and mentor shape or influence your growth?
My educator, Gargee, guided us with patience, encouraged us with meaningful feedback, and pushed us to refine our work with her keen eye for detail. Her support helped me understand the importance of observing and improving with intention.
And Balaji sir — his presence itself is inspiring. Truly, I don’t have enough words for him. My very first meeting with him is something I’ll never forget. His words carry so much warmth and confidence. “Trust the process, ma” is a line that has stayed with me forever.

6. Were you able to work on real-time projects after your learning journey? If yes, could you share the types of projects and your experience working on them?
Yes, and it still makes me smile to think about it.
After the program, I worked on children’s book illustrations, packaging designs for board games, and invitation designs. What I loved most was that I never felt “left alone” after the course ended. The journey had prepared me so well that I could step into projects with confidence.
And whenever I needed guidance, the commune was always there — supportive, open, and encouraging. That community strength makes a world of difference.

7. What message would you like to share with beginner creative enthusiasts who feel unsure about dedicating consistent time to learning?
To every beginner who feels uncertain — I understand. The start can feel overwhelming. But once you immerse yourself in the process, the journey becomes deeply joyful. Consistency will slowly form on its own. You won’t even realise when discipline becomes a natural part of your day.
And truly, I would say this with open arms — “Welcome to the world of Artpreneur.” It transforms you in ways you can’t imagine.

8. Which part of your story are you most proud of today? Did you face any challenges along the way?
I’m most proud that today I can call myself a digital illustrator, a storybook artist, and a creator of cute and divine art that touches people.
Yes, there were challenges — balancing home, sadhana, and learning wasn’t always easy. But the joy of the journey made all the challenges lighter. And my family supported me wholeheartedly, making everything smoother. Their understanding of my dream was a blessing.

9. What is one belief or mantra that kept you moving forward in your creative journey?
“Trust the process.” This simple yet powerful line from Balaji sir guided me through every stage of the journey—and continues to guide me even today.
I was never someone who followed a set process. I was more free-willed, doing things as they came to me. But this journey taught me a completely new way of working — one that brings clarity, structure, and a sense of calm.
Following a process didn’t restrict me; it opened up a clear, beautiful path in front of me. Today, “trust the process” isn’t just a line I repeat — it is something I truly believe in.

10. What is something you can do today that past-you would have never believed possible?
It isn’t just one thing — it’s so many.
Professionally, past-me would never have believed that I could:
•  Create digital illustrations from scratch
•  Handle independent client projects with confidence
•  Make art that reaches people, touches them, and stays with them
But today, I’m able to do all of this with joy, clarity, and a sense of purpose. I feel genuinely proud of the journey that shaped me into the artist I am becoming.
And beyond the visible achievements, there are so many silent takeaways from this program — things that have shifted my mindset, strengthened my discipline, expanded my creativity, and given me a calmer, more grounded way of approaching life and art.
These inner changes are just as invaluable as the skills themselves.
