1. How did you come across Artpreneur Program?
I was looking to learn something new in art and soon came across the Japanese Kawaii Nouveau workshop conducted by the Artpreneur Program. I joined in and had a great experience learning and was in awe as to how smoothly and professionally the whole workshop was conducted. Later, I came to know about Artpreneur Program’s full curriculum and since I had already had a positive experience, I joined it immediately.
2. What is your education/career background?
I’m a B.A. honours graduate of English language and literature and after that I went on to pursue my masters in linguistics, however I was not have a fulfilling experience in my journey and had always wanted to pursue a career in art so as soon as I came across the program, I immediately hopped onto it.
3. When did you start your art Career ?
I was always interested in art from childhood. Even after getting out of school, I continued to practice art and draw often alongside my college education. I was mostly fascinated by the anime, manga and kawaii art styles and worked on those. After coming inside the Artpreneur commune, I’m happy to say that I’ve grown a lot more and developed a lot of other artistic skills.
4. Why did you join the Artpreneur Program?
I was not personally happy with the way that my journey was going. I did not want to pursue a career in the field that I was studying for and the mental pressure led me down a dark path where I felt like a purpose that I find fulfilling would help me.
Most art schools require years to graduate from and as someone who had already gone through a lot of education institutes, I did not want to waste my time anymore and would rather start my professional career as soon as I could.
All of these factors and finding Artpreneur Program at the right time made me become a part of this commune.
5. What were your expectations from the Artpreneur Program?
As someone who has never had a professional training as an illustrator, I was very much unaware of how to create brands and how to be a part of the industry as a whole and mostly my expectations were geared towards that. I wanted to learn how the industry works and how creation of brand and different artworks involve the clients to eventually have a more sustaining professional career.
6. What did you master in the Artpreneur program apart from technical aspects?
Apart from learning how to handle different softwares and different mediums and also the myriads of art styles, I learned how to manage each and every aspect of my life much more smoothly and learnt how to deal with internal and external turmoil in a much more levated manner. I can definitely say that I’m a much more disciplined person now than I was, going into the program. Also another life skill that I’ve mastered is journalling which is now a very crucial part of my everyday schedule.
7. Would you recommend Artpreneur Program to other people? What would you say to them?
I would absolutely recommend Artpreneur Program to anyone that wants to rise up as a creative being. More that just art syles and technical handling, here you’ll learn how to become a more fulfilling version of yourself which will make you want to grow more and more.
The mentor and the educators make sure that each student joining the program is personally taken care of regardless of their shortcomings. They’re patient and understanding and very much aware of the industry standards.
The curriculum is also diverse and encompassing of different Indian and International art syles which makes one viable to become a professional in the field.
8. What are you doing currently?
Currently I’m an educator in the Artptreneur Program and also an instructor for the digital painting part of the curriculum. I also conduct workshops under the Artpreneur Program and besides all of these I’m working on my own branding and art studio called Crawley on Canvas.
9. How has Artpreneur Program impacted your life?
The Artpreneur Program has impacted my life in a significant manner. I’m a much happier and peaceful version of myself. To have a discipline and clear goal and having people in the commune who consistently help me in achieving that goal has not only helped me in my professional field but also my personal life. I’ve a certain identity for myself and definitely a confidence boost that this Program has awarded me.
10. What is your relationship with your educator and your mentor?
As a part of the program, the two people closest to me were my educator Vinodhini Durai @pastelwandstudios and my mentor Mr. SCD Balaji @scdbalajiart. No matter what the issue is I could easily communicate with both of them regarding my challenges and they would always help me overcome it.
Vinodhini was the sweetest and kindest soul that I had come across, she was not only patient but also very much forthcoming with suggestions and advices to make me improve. And even after completing the course she has been immensely kind to me.
As for, Balaji Sir, he is an amazing soul has a zeal to help his fellow beings and it definitely radiates from him. Even to this day, I can always share my turmoils with him and he is always there as a mentor to help me grow both as an artist and as a person.
