When we, Atma Studios, had an in-depth conversation with Pavithra, all we found was the intensity of her passion for Art.
She knew Art is her thing. She has been searching places, travelling miles & waiting for years to learn design & enter the design world. We have to accept that Pavithra's journey as an Artpreneur is overwhelming, emotional & definitely inspiring.
All that we wanted to say after talking to her was, "Go, Girl! You got that Glow".

1. How did you get to know about the Artpreneur Program?
I came to know about a Character Design Workshop conducted by Mr. SCD Balaji through a friend. I attended the workshop & that's how I came to know about Artpreneur Program.

2. What were you working as before joining the Artpreneur Program?
I was working in an Electronics & Communication company while joining Artpreneur.

3. What made you take up this 1-year Program?
When I was pursuing my degree, I didn't know I was into Art. But, even while preparing for my GATE exams, I used to doodle a lot.
When I realized how happy I was while drawing something, I felt like cheating myself without pursuing Art. That's when I started seeking to learn design. I started going to coaching classes to clear entrance exams of various design schools.
The two days Character design workshop gave me a high. I travelled 12 hours straight to attend the Workshop in Coimbatore.
But when I was in the workshop, I didn't even feel a bit of tiredness. I forgot my life problems, hindrances & worries. I forgot my past & future. The two days I felt myself, the real happy me! I was totally in the creative World, flying with my imagination.
I felt that I want to be that version of myself even when I grow old. I know this is the place I belong to.
Yes, of course, I had many logical questions when I thought of joining the Artpreneur program. But when I returned to my office, I can't forget the workshop & the feelings it gave.
I felt I was being myself without any internal restriction in the workshop. I want to do that Character Design program daily. Artpreneur Program was that! I was like a child, very adamant about joining the Program.

4. Do you regret not joining a design school? How different is Artpreneur Program from other design courses?
No. I don't regret that I didn't go to a design school.
Once I used to have a crush on Design schools. I used to follow the students of those colleges, their lifestyle & culture. I even tried thrice for the entrance exams. I did my coaching classes. At 3rd time I lost it due to the reservation system.
Also, the fact that they only take people with skills was demotivating for me. I didn't understand the point of teaching to people who already have the skill. I understood those colleges were not the place for amateurs like me.
On the contrary, Artpreneur Program happily takes in amateurs & teach them to be professional. The result is so much evident in their Portfolio.
Artpreneur Program is not asking for anything but passion & curiosity to learn. The Program wants its students to be independent after completing the course.

5. Apart from technical aspects, what have you learnt from the Artpreneur program?
I learnt a lot of things. I can mention a few!
I felt my self-worth only after coming to this Program. I learnt how to be organized both inside & outside.
I realized how precious time was! Here we have a module where we should create something in 30 seconds, 60 and 120 seconds. That's when I realized the value of every moment.
I've learnt to work on myself, my personal growth & career. I discovered myself in my Artpreneur Journey. The Program taught me to validate myself, discover myself, and communicate my thoughts and much more.
It gave me everything… like literally!

6. We know Art is your passion. Are you making money out of your passion? What do you do now?
Currently, I'm living full-time!
Just kidding! I was in a full-time job before Artpreneur. Now, my work has become my living. It no more feels like a job!
I have started my Branding & Design studio 'Fables by Homa'. I'm a co-educator in the Artpreneur Program. Also, I'm a part of the Imagineers Program, where we take Art programs.
I started earning even before my course ended.
Artpreneur Program is much more than a monetary aspect. You'll learn a lot for life, travel with like-minded positive people, build a lifestyle and much more.
You'll become multi-faceted after the Program. I joined the Artpreneur program to become a character designer. I can now be a character designer, illustrator, digital artist, entrepreneur or brand designer. I can be anything I wish to be!
ROI can't be calculated with money alone. It can't be measured.
Artpreneur program is a lifetime investment. If you put 100%, you'll get more than what you invested in a year.

7. Describe your life before & after Artpreneur Program
My life before & after Artpreneur Program is like the Avatar movie. In the film, Jake Sully, the protagonist, is disabled in his real World. But in the Avatar world, he can run, jump, fight, save and ultimately transform the World!
That's precisely what happened in my life.
Before Artpreneur Program, I was a girl with very low self-esteem and almost zero self-worth. I was like a key-operated toy doing stuff that I didn't like. I wasn't bold enough to communicate what I felt. I didn't like the job that I did and was not happy with who I was.
After Artpreneur, I discovered myself. I can see who I am, what I am and what I'm here for. I realized what I should work on. I understood how important self-care is. I realized my worth. I can communicate.
Above all, I'm happy, confident about life. I'm proud of my existence & grateful for life. I feel I'm in the right place & contented in my career. I’m all set to transform the world & spread love through Art!

8. What does Artpreneur mean to you?
So, you're asking what my Avatar world means to me!
It is my second birth. I got to see the kid in me, appreciate her without inhibition, and show her to the World. I can be vulnerable in this World. I can come back to the Program anytime in the life.
Artpreneur is the place where we get loved and respected for who we are. It is the type of World where I want everyone to live. In this World, no one cares about our past. They just focus on what we do. Even if we commit mistakes, we are always given space to correct them without being judged.

9. How has the relationship between the Mentor and the Artpreneur community been after the Program?
I remember this song ‘Count on me' by Bruno Mars when I think about the Artpreneur community.
Artpreneur community is the 'Tree of Souls' in the Avatar movie. Here I can be myself, express my imagination & experiment. Here no one is going to judge me for any reason. I'm grateful that I had this opportunity to travel with such souls in the Journey. No matter what, I can count on this community. Everyone here inspires others.
I don't know where I could find a community like this.
And, the very root of this Tree of Souls is our Mentor, Mr. SCD Balaji.
It was Mr. SCD Balaji who trusted me when things were not that good in my life. He believed in my ability, gave me opportunities, made me a teacher, and gave me the confidence to face life. I'm always grateful to Mr. SCD Balaji and Abishek for being my mentors

10. Would you recommend the Artpreneur program to others? Why? What do you want to say to the people who are looking to join the Program?
Yeah! Definitely... like infinity & beyond!
Because I want everyone to live in this World of Creativity& happily be themselves!
If you are looking to join, you'll be looking forever.
PAUSE.
I know you are like the cat on the wall. I know you'll be shit scared to jump in the side of your passion. I was in your shoes earlier. Trust your intuition & jump into the Program. Just follow your heart, give it your 100% & you'll get back what you invested.
Take your time, do your research, see the Portfolio, talk to alumni... do whatever you want.
If your gut tells you this is right, then it is right. If you feel so, you are meant to be in this Program. Take a stand for yourself, decide for yourself and jump.
